Lehavot will be exhibiting its advanced fire detection and suppression solutions at FIREX International, which will take place in London on June 21-23, 2016. This trade show is a platform for the latest in fire prevention, detection and protection technologies, attracting a full range of fire industry stakeholders – from end-users, to distributors, to integrators, to manufacturers.
Lehavot, which has been a trendsetter in the fire protection industry for more than 60 years, will be showcasing its groundbreaking technologies such as the DELTA linear fire and heat detector. The patent-protected DELTA is a paradigm shift in real-time, reliable detection of fire and overheating in the most challenging and rugged fire detection and suppression applications such as buses, trains, military vehicles and mines.
In response to customer needs, Lehavot has developed a wide range of vertical solutions such as BUSShield for public transportation vehicles, DEFENSEShield for military vehicles, OIL-TANKShield for oil and gas storage tanks and KITCHENShield for industrial kitchens. Lehavot’s team at Booth C141 at FIREX International is looking forward to sharing these proven solutions, as well as discussing with the FIREX International attendees how Lehavot can meet their most unique and demanding fire protection requirements.
When regulators in Israel ruled that all buses used for public transportation must be protected with engine fire detection and suppression units, it was not surprising that public transportation operators turned to Lehavot for a solution.
Bus fires pose an exceptionally catastrophic threat of injury, death and loss of property. Bus fire events often originate in either the engine or battery compartments, both of which are usually out of the driver’s line-of-sight. The longer the time that elapses between a fire breaking out and its detection, the greater the risk of disastrous results.
Lehavot’s BUSShield is a comprehensive, cost-effective and reliable bus fire protection system that immediately alerts the driver to fire and overheating events and automatically takes efficient extinguishing action. BUSShield is based on Lehavot’s groundbreaking DELTA linear fire and heat detector whose stainless steel detection tubing is easily installed in confined spaces such as engine compartments and is highly robust to harsh environmental conditions such as grime, dirt, dust, etc.
The BUSShield is currently being installed in thousands of public transportation buses in Israel and other countries in the world, and it is expected that hundreds more will soon be protecting its passengers with the world’s most advanced bus fire detection and suppression system.
Lehavot is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed a pilot installation of its advanced fire detection and suppression system in a power station transformer room in Thailand. The Thai government is in the process of building a network of 40 power stations that will provide universal access to electricity throughout the country. In light of the successful pilot, it is expected that Lehavot will be engaged to install its state-of-the-art fire protection solutions in the rest of the power stations.
Most power transformers contain large quantities of mineral oil. If a fire erupts in or near a transformer, there is a high probability that it will develop into a serious oil fire causing loss of property, disrupting the power supply and endangering lives. For this reason the high-voltage power transformer in a power station is typically housed in a way that can be outfitted with a robust and reliable fire detection and suppression system.
At the heart of Lehavot’s transformer room system is its patented DELTA pneumatic-electronic linear fire and heat detector. The DELTA’s easily-installed stainless steel detection tube sensitively analyzes the Rate of temperature Rise (RoR). The DELTA detects out-of-range fluctuations in less than one second and, in the event of a fire, it automatically triggers the fire suppression system, which releases extinguishing agents suitable for electrical and oil fires.
With Lehavot’s rugged, reliable, state-of-the-art fire detection and suppression system installed, power station operators can be confident that potentially disastrous fires are detected and extinguished before they can cause extensive damage or threaten lives.
KITCHENShield is Lehavot’s state-of-the-art fire suppression solution for industrial kitchens, with a proven track record of minimizing damage and injury in these fire-prone working environments. Proprietary fire detectors are installed in the fume hood above the cooking appliances. When a temperature above a pre-determined threshold is detected, KITCHENShield immediately triggers the extinguishing agents and interrupts the energy supply. The extinguishing agents are environment- and stainless-steel-friendly. KITCHENShield’s modular design facilitates easy on-site adaptation to meet each kitchen’s unique and diverse requirements.
In late 2015, KITCHENShield was installed in the Crowne Plaza Aquarium Hotel in Istanbul, in the Sheraton Hotel near Istanbul, as well as in a number of kitchens in the offices of YKB, one of Turkey’s largest private banks. Lehavot looks forward to bringing KITCHENShield’s well-established fire protection benefits to large and small industrial kitchens throughout Turkey.
Industrial kitchens are well-known fire-hazard zones. Texaco has deployed Lehavot’s KITCHENShield, the world’s best kitchen fire protection system, in its gas station restaurants throughout Holland. They have made this investment in order to ensure that employees, customers and assets are safeguarded from fires that may break out in the cooking areas.

Travellers who stop to refresh themselves at Texaco’s gas station restaurants in the Netherlands– as well as the employees who work in these facilities every day – can now be confident that any kitchen fire that may break out will be quickly and effectively contained. For both Lehavot and Texaco, it is always “safety first”.
Lehavot production and protection has recently completed and commissioned successfully a fire detection system for 4 Oil storage tanks in an oil terminal in Gujarat, India. The system was installed in collaboration with a local partner.
Lehavot has provided a full detection and control solution integrated to the customers fire extinguishing systems. The detection system is based on the patented DELTA detector – this unique device detects fire on a principle of rate of temperature rise and is capable of detecting fire within less than one second.
The DELTA detector, when routed on the circumference of the oil tank, monitors the hazardous area between the tank shell and the roof edge providing optimal coverage for fire detection. The detection system, constantly monitored and supervised by Lehavot’s Command and Control Unit (CCU) is connected to all the system’s components and provides online information on the system status including component condition, functionality of the system and above all provides an alarm signal upon a fire event.
When a fire is detected, Lehavot’s DELTA detector will send a signal to the CCU which will in turn automatically activate the fire extinguishing system and provide alarms and notifications to required locations.
Lehavot’s WCK kitchen hood fire suppression systems were chosen to protect a new international project in one of the Mediterranean countries. The project, in a new & modern luxury marina, includes fire protection systems for 13 restaurants such as Piazza Hut, Taco Bell, KFC and other leading food chains, as well as prestige high end restaurants.
Lehavot was chosen over a few of the leading international fire protection companies to design, supply and provide technical support to this project and was able to prove to the projects technical team, including engineers and consultants its superiority over competing technologies. Following the success of this large scale tender, “Lehavot” received a new project replacing old fire kitchen systems in other luxury locations.
Lehavot’s WCK kitchen hood fire suppression systems offer exceptional design, allowing high confidence fire protection, while offering simple installation and maintenance.
The UL listed and CE Marked system, is a registered patent and marketed in many countries around the world.
Lehavot has manufactured, supplied and installed over 1,000 fire suppression system to protect public bus engines.
The system, installed at the bus company’s location in the bus engine, is designed to provide the ultimate protection against fire that occurs in the back part of the bus, away from the driver or the passengers view.
Utilizing the unique patented DELTA detector, the system will detect fire at its incipient stage and automatically activate the extinguishing unit rapidly extinguishing the fire.
In addition the system sends an alarm signal to the driver’s panel who receives both audible and visual fire alarm indications.
The system was designed to meet the requirements of both local and international standards and contributes to passengers’ and property safety.
